Traveling by bike, scooter, or on foot often means dealing with rain, wind, and poor visibility… Layering up is key: parka, high-vis vest, rain pants. Useful for the journey, less so for the rest of the day.

REKIS [Breton adj.: necessary, indispensable] was born in Rennes with a clear vision: to combine technical performance and urban style. Technical clothing often lacks elegance, and urban clothing lacks functionality.

Through discussions with active mobility professionals and cyclists commuting to work, certain needs became clear: to be Protected from the elements, visible, without being weighed down: Fewer clothes, fewer constraints, without sacrificing style.

After months of research, sourcing, and numerous prototypes, we designed a unique trench coat, incorporating discreet features:

  • An integrated and reversible high-visibility vest
  • Deployable and removable leg guards
  • A trench coat suitable for cycling, scootering and walking

A trench coat designed to accompany you from morning to night, from work to restaurants, in all weather conditions.

WHO IS BEHIND REKIS?

Two sisters, Gaëlle and Mathilde.
For over 20 years, we created and developed a clothing brand for pregnant women. We learned to listen to users, to test, to adjust, and to design technical clothing that follows the body in motion.

With Rekis, we put this experience to use in everyday clothing, designed for those who move around town every day.

A THOUGHTFUL DESIGN

In the era of overproduction, we chose to design a multifunctional garment.

Research and development work was carried out to combine several uses in a single piece, while maintaining protection, visibility and style.

Three uses integrated into a single trench coat: less bulk, fewer multiple purchases, and designed to accompany your urban journeys.

OUR MATERIALS & PARTNERS

Each element of our trench coat is the result of meticulous sourcing:

  • Sympatex® 3-layer fabric (France/Germany/Spain) waterproof, breathable, windproof, recycled and PFAS-free.
  • YKK® zippers quality standard
  • Reflective strips (France) discreet and visible at night, high visibility and PVC-free.

    Our trench coat was developed in collaboration with Toptex Cube France: Rennes & Claveyson, a specialist in technical clothing.
    The cutting will be done in France and the assembly will be carried out in their own subsidiary in Tunisia with rigorous monitoring at each stage.
    Laser cutting, heat sealing and welding guarantee waterproofing and comfort.
